Effective Oct. 1, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS’) will expand the list of applicants who must attend an interview to obtain a Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) to include (1) Adjustment of status applications based on employment, and (2) Refugee/Asylee relative petitions. USCIS is planning an incremental expansion of interviews to other benefit types as well.
Expansion of interview categories is in line with the President’s Executive Order “Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States,” and the Administration’s comprehensive strategy to enhance the integrity of the immigration system
As USCIS strives to develop more robust screening and vetting procedures for individuals seeking immigration benefits, the work that we do at The Prince Firm becomes much more important. We thoroughly review each supporting document that our clients submit with their immigration application for consistency and accuracy and conduct detailed interviews with our clients to identify and proactively address potential problems.
